Obama says outsourcing to India cannot be reversed

More opportunities ahead

Barack Obama, the candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, said that he would focus on improving the US economy and creating more opportunities, making it competitive in the global market rather than cutting down outsourcing to India and China, reported AOL news.

Obama said that revolutions in communication and technology has sent jobs to any place with Internet connection. This led to the fact that today children in cities such as Boston are forced to compete with those in Bangalore and Beijing. According to him the fact that the world is more competitive cannot be reversed.

He said that the US has always risen from adverse situations in the past and that the country need to focus on developing the middle-class and investing in development. According to him the most important aspect is investment in education and welfare of workers.

India has been a keen observer of the US election proceedings and many consider that Obama rising to power may affect the outsourcing industry in India adversely. Obama had earlier criticised Hillary for rationalising outsourcing, and explaining that it worked both ways as it brought jobs to both India and US.
