If you’re a startup company, or you need stimulating inputs for your startup, or want an exchange of ideas on several start-up issues, you can join the Open Coffee Club (OCC). The hope is that all it takes is a refreshing cup of coffee to connect you to the right resources.
OCC harks back to the Indian Coffee houses of olde in different cities where aspiring professionals used to have brainstorming sessions on varied topics. OCC, the first of its kind, was started by Saul Klein in London a year back to encourage entrepreneurs, developers and investors. The year old forum provides a real world place for the start-ups to meetup, network and grow. London hosted the first OCC meet on 1st March, 2007 but now it's gone global.
Abhishek Goyal, a regular visitor from Erasmic Ventures, said that OCC helps in identifying potential ventures to invest in. Vaibhav Pandey, an OCC catalyst is quite enthusiastic about the whole idea of connecting people over a cup of coffee. While speaking to the IT Examiner in a start-up event, Pandey said about 550 members and 200 startups have registered with the group. Pandey is looking forward to host some more meet-ups and workshops in the near future.
The next meet-up will be on the 8th June, 2008. Cheers! X
