Oracle buys Primavera

Rights of Spring

By Examiner Staff @ Wednesday, October 08, 2008 1:26 PM

Database maker Oracle said it bought Primavera, a firm specializing in project portfolio management software.

Oracle didn't say how much it paid for the firm, but said its management and employees will form a separate unit called Oracle PPM, providing software to industries including engineering and construction, aerospace, oil and gas and manufacturing.

The deal will close sometime before the end of this year, and until then Primavera will operate in its own right, with its CEO Joel Koppelman expected to be in charge of the unit when it merges fully with Oracle. X
