The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to clamp down on match fixing by banning mobile phones in and around the players' dug-out.

Players and officials have been openly making or receiving phone calls and the PCB was forced to warn the competing teams to stop using mobiles during the The National Twenty20 Cup. 

The National Twenty20 Cup is easily the most popular domestic cricket event in Pakistan as it has all the big names and local heroes taking part.  It has also been the event where huge amounts of cash have changed hands on and off the pitch.

Sultan Rana, PCB's Director of Domestic cricket said that International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations forbid the use of mobile phones before and during games.

The PCB claims that match-fixing was now a thing of the past.  Although why it is so concerned about players taking calls in the player’s dug out was not clear. X
