Petrol pumps run out of normal fuel

Super or nothing

Many customers in Bangalore are being forced to fill up with more expensive high octane ‘power’ or ‘speed’ petrol in their vehicles as petrol pumps in the city increasingly run out of regular petrol.

It is claimed that using a mixture of different types of fuels affect the tuning of the vehicles. This makes the users of normal petrol wary of using the high octane fuels.

According to some users, some of the petrol pumps in Bangalore fill up the high octane fuel by default. The fuel being expensive, it is more profitable for the petrol stations. Many are unaware of these facts and may simply watch the meter reading rather than check the type of fuel.

The price of petrol in Bangalore has increased by Rs 5.61 per litre to Rs 58.50 and the price of diesel is up by Rs 3.36 per litre to Rs 39.80. The prices of super fuels are even higher, but customers often find themselves left with no choice.

When the hike in fuel price was announced, many pumps went dry in the city. People feel that this was anticipated as a way of making profits from the price rise. This has left many customers with no choice but to opt for the more costly fuel. X
