Presidential hopeful learns about computers

Anything for a quiet life

Tired of being the butt of jokes about his technical prowess, John McCain has told the New York Times he's learning how to use a computer.

Republican candidate McCain, who is in danger of appearing like a Luddite in comparison to his more IT-savvy opponent, has decided to take a crash course in computing. However, he draws the line at email and said he sees no reason why he needed to do that. Capitol Hill has been powered by Blackberries for years now.

McCain added that he wouldn't blog either, so quite what he is going to use his new computing skills for is uncertain. McCain has admitted that he is computer-illiterate. His strongest statement so far on the matter came from his aide Mark Soohoo, who famously said his boss was 'aware of the internet.'
