Samsung introduces OMNIA to Indian market

Samsung Mobile has launched its all-in-one super phone, Samsung OMNIA (SGH-i900) in the Indian market.

Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Telecom said: "Samsung OMNIA is our flagship model aimed at users who desire a lot of functionality, a lot of style, a lot of usability and a lot of entertainment in one innovative device. Samsung OMNIA will help users to be at the forefront of work and play and at the same time, to stay connected anytime, anywhere." The aptly named OMNIA, means ‘everything’ in Latin and ‘wish’ in Arabic, this new Samsung mobile has umpteen features. OMNIA also offers GPS facilities, enabling navigation and geo-tagging.

It has a  high resolution touch-sensitive 3.2 inch WQVGA LCD screen, with the option of intuitive tap, sweep, drag and drop operation, and an on-screen QWERTY keyboard. SGH-i900 features a five-megapixel CMOS camera, which includes auto-focus (AF), face detection, smile detection and auto-panorama shot. Available with 32 GB Memory and 24GB Memory. It also has MultiCodec support for DivX, Xvid and other video formats.

Dutt said: "OMNIA is for people who expect the ultimate from their mobile devices and who don’t compromise on their desires. All functions of this device including amazing video quality are to be experienced to be believed as they set the next benchmark in the industry." Outfitted with Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, OMNIA also allows access to MS Office documents such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

The 12.5 mm sized Samsung OMNIA is available at Rs. 39,999 ($859) with 32 GB Memory and  Rs. 37,999 ($816) with 24GB Memory. X
