Samsung launches eight mega-pixel camera phone

 Comes pre-loaded with two of Aamir Khan's movies

Samsung Mobile has finally launched its eight mega pixel camera phone, Innov8, for the Indian market. The high resolution camera phone, with browsing and gaming capability, was unveiled by Bollywood starlet Soha Ali Khan in Bangalore.

Innov8 is the company’s 31st mobile model for India, with another eight to 10 models including multimedia phones lined-up for launch by the end of this year, according to Samsung Mobile country head Sunil Dutt.

This device supports a wide range of video player formats, including DivX, WMV, Real Player and MPEG4. It has dual external speakers and 3D surround sound supported by DNSe2.0, along with the imaging applications of a high end camera. For surfing enthusiasts, the phone comes with an optical mouse and four-way navigation key, HSDPA high speed internet and Wifi connectivity.

The company plans a television campaign by November, once a sufficient number of Innov8 phones is deployed across the country. The ad campaign will feature Samsung’s brand Ambassador and Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan, andwill be continuation of the company’s "Next is what" campaign, which shows Aamir in high-flying sky-diving action.

The new device is also pre-loaded with two of Aamir Khan’s movies - we bet one will be Aamir’s directorial debut Tare Zameen Pe, which has also been nominated for Oscars this year. The phone is priced at a whopping Rs 45,999. X
