Satnav Technologies, an IT company focusing on navigation, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and business infrastructure management related products, has added one million points of interest (POIs) across eight major cities in India.

The major cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Some maps include addresses and contact numbers in them for 12 important categories of POI. According to the company, this is the first time any company has built content of this magnitude. Satguide has now added on 150 more cities to its services.

The POIs are important landmarks such as hospitals, ATM centres, malls, theatres and hotels, which can be found even if streets are unnamed. Satguide offers a "One India" map, which has all this information for a retail price of Rs 3,999. The company offers existing map customers free upgrades under the annual plan. These maps are also incorporated with turn-by-turn voice-integrated directions along with detailed national and state highway network maps.

Satguide is planning to reach out to more customers by adding more city maps and POIs over the year. It is also conducting a series of marketing activities in October. X
