SIx giants plan to share WiMAX patents - report

Well five giants anyway

A report in the Wall Street Journal said that in a bid to spur adoption of WiMAX broadband six big IT firms will share patents

Intel, Cisco, Samsung, Clearwire, Spring Nextel, and Alcatel-Lucent will make the announcement today, according to the report.

The 'Open Patent Alliance' will license them to third parties and attempt to keep royalties low to push the technology forward. X
