The Andhra Pradesh election officials on Monday launched a hi-tech facility for the convenience of the voters.

By just sending an SMS with a keyword, voters can now know their polling booth and its location in the Hyderabad city. The information is also available at the click of a mouse on the internet at www.pollingbooth.in.

By keying in CEO (space) EPIC (election photo identity card) no and sending it to 56677, voters can get information about the polling booth in Hyderabad.

'The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has developed a software for this purpose. It will be convenient for the voters to locate their respective polling booths just by sending an SMS or accessing the website,' state chief electoral officer (CEO) IV Subba Rao.

The CEO inaugurated the two facilities in Hyderabad on Monday. Initially, the internet search and SMS facility will be available for voters in Hyderabad while other voters in the state could access similar information on the nternet at www.ceoandhra.gov.in where a separate link is provided. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Special Commissioner MT Krishna Babu was also present on the occasion. X
