Solar powered city backed by Microsoft

And the Clinton Foundation

By Examiner Staff @ Friday, August 15, 2008 7:02 AM

Reports said that the Clinton Foundation, backed by Microsoft and GE Energy are to build a solar power station in north west India which will pump out 5,000MW.

If these reports are true, the solar station will exceed the largest project to date, in the Mojave Desert in California. That's projected to deliver only 900MW.

The Clinton Foundation has around $12 billion set aside for these types of projects, Gizmag said, and is already talking to the governments of Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. X
