Tech Mahindra plans to focus on its existing IT services clients for its BPO business, reports the Financial Express.

The company's clients include telecom giants in the US and the UK, and it plans to extend its services to its existing IT services clients in India, New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines. According to company sources, telecom operators are to an extent unwilling to outsource. The deals are also small in nature. Tech Mahindra considers its move to base its BPO operations on existing clients to be beneficial. However, it will face competition from other domestic players.

The BPO section of Tech Mahindra has about 4,000 employees and operates from cities such as Pune, Chandigarh, Chennai and Noida. Nearly 50 per cent of the company’s BPO revenues are attributed to a major client, a UK-based British telecom. The company also claims to have as its client a telecom giant in India with a subscriber base of about 18 million. X
