Tektronix creates Indian R&D hub

Will design cutting-edge technology

North American-based Tektronix has transformed its Indian headquarters into an R&D hub for the design of cutting-edge technology.

Team Manager Badri Malynur explained that almost 85 per cent of the 12-15 new products introduced over the last two years were developed at the Indian centre.

"We are getting to a stage where one in three engineers working on any given Tektronix project will be from India. The centre here is playing an increasingly critical role in the development of global products which have the opportunity to have a big impact on technological innovations around the world," said Malynur.

To be sure, the new Philips HDMI testing centre in Bangalore recently adopted the Tektronix HDMI V1.3b1 compliance test solution. According to Jelle Rieske of Philips, high quality test and measurement instruments and solutions were "fundamental to ensure compliance with the HDMI test specification and ultimately the development of successful HDMI products."

In addition,  PulseCore Semiconductor recently tested its new USB 2.0 integrated circuit using a full suite of Tektronix instrumentation. The Pulse Core IC is reportedly the first in the industry to utilise spread spectrum clocking to reduce electromagnetic interference. X
