To know your future, go to an Indian mall

Strange as it may seem, but shopping malls in the tech capital of the world will soon be able to forecast your future. Yes, Bangalore will boast an exclusive Astrology mall -will have astrologers, numerologists, palmists, tarot card readers etc under one roof.

According to the Times of India, the city will have 10 such malls, the first will open by the first week of September in JP Nagar. Not only will the mall have soothsayers, it will also have astro related shops that will sell gem stones, yagna materials, Rudraksha beads, books related with astrology and so on.

The multi-specialty ‘astromall’ is not just about fortune telling, it will also arrange for pujas and yagnas suggested by the astrologer. These malls will be named Star and after the planets and will have branches in Mrathahalli, HRS layout, Vijaynagar, Rajajinagar, Sarjapur, Electronic City and Kasturinagar.

The selection for fortune tellers will be based on a written test and interview on basis of which experts in the same field will select them. So if you thought you will buy a parrot that depicts future and make a fortune out of these malls, maybe you should think again?

The concept of having a mall exclusively for astrology might be new, but there are quite a few commercial malls where one can easily find an astrologer. Infinity mall in Mumbai is one such. It will be interesting to see how many techies visit the electronic city astro mall, to know their future. Will it be beneficial for those employees who fear job security, they can consult fortune tellers much in advance and apply elsewhere before they get fired. Or what if the astro tells you, don’t waste your time in Infy, kick that geek job and start your own company, because you will be the next Narayan Murthy.

Journalists covering the IT sector, like us can also approach such astrologers for breaking news. Err, I shouldn’t have disclosed our Examiner bright plan openly. X
