Telephone regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended its deadline for receiving comments on its consultation paper on “Issues related to Internet Telephony”.

The new deadline, which follows requests from stakeholders for an extension, is 16 June 2008.

The paper discusses the requirement to relax existing regulatory restrictions on the Internet telephony licensing regime, and the timescale within which this should take place. Stakeholders were previously required to submit their comments by 9 June. X
