| | Taiwanese wire Digitimes reported that Hewlett Packard has placed an order for Via's Nano CPU, a competitor to Intel's Atom processor.
HP already uses Via's predecessor to the Nano CPU, the C7-M, and the same wire reports that HP has already ordered half a million of those babies.
The desktop version of the Nano won glowing reviews a few weeks back from hardware sites worldwide. While the notebook version is not yet shipping, it is on target to be produced later this year.
Digitimes also reported that Via will launch a mobile ITX motherboard later this year, which will be half the size of the firm's Pico ITX. That will support Via's Nano, Eden, and C-7 microprocessor families. X | |
