It sounds bizarre, when we get to know, how good Microsoft’s Vista is doing in India. A product which was frowned upon, when software giant announced in May announced it will be compulsory for corporate’s to upgrade to Vista.

Vista an operating system which initially revolved around concerns in the area of device and application compatibility, has successfully sold 180million of Vista licences around the world and has crossed two million licensed copies alone in India.

Prasanna Meduri, Director, Windows Client, Microsoft India, claims Vista is not just doing well in the corporate segment, but with its wider access to an integrated yet seamless menu of entertainment functions, it has immense uptake in consumer segment also, reported PC world.

Meduri said “since the launch, large computer manufacturers such as HCL, HP, Lenovo, Sahara, Wipro and Zenith have been shipping Vista-loaded PCs”. However, he didn’t mention it was Microsoft’s dominance which might have compelled to take up Vista. X
