Western Digital claims better performance for 1TB S-ATA drive

And its 750GB baby

Hard drive manufacturer Western Digital said it has added 750GB and 1GB drives to its S-ATA range of RE products.

The 3.5-inch drives include 32MB of cache, and WD claims added electronics will increase performance by between 20% and 60% in "high vibration" environments.

This performance technology includes so-called RAFF technology - the electronics monitor the drive and correct linear and rotational vibration at the same time.

These drives have a 1.2 million mean time between failure rating,  and Western Digital is selling them through distributors and resellers. The drives cost €169 for the 750GB model, and €249 for the 1TB model, and are available now. X
