Wipro Infotech has won a multi million, five year IT outsourcing contract from Spencer’s retail.

It will be in charge of providing IT infrastructure support for Spencer’s stores, distribution centres, regional and zonal offices, and will also be managing future store roll outs. Wipro’s Global Service Management Centre in Mysore will provide real time information through dashboards, bringing cost efficiencies to Spencer’s and enhancing its IT system availability and streamlining IT delivery process. Spencer’s operates 400 stores in 66 cities and plans to have 1,000 stores by the end of 2009.

Anand Sankaran, Chief Executive, Wipro Infotech, said, ‘We are excited about the potential for growth in retail and believe this agreement benefits the position of both parties to participate in that robust growth.’  X
