The world's most useless net application has got $15 million in extra funding and is now valued at an astonishing $80 million, according to reports doing the rounds of the US press.

Twitter is a way of telling the world+dog that your toothbrush has hard bristles, that a tiny gecko has just appeared on your wall, that your Head and Shoulders has run out, and that your stomach is feeling a little bit queasy.

It is our old pal Om Malik at Gigaom who has apparently started the rash of Twitter stories on Google News. Om writes that the useless Twitter has now got around $20 million of funding, here. X
