Allo, allo, allo?

By Agency Wires @ Wednesday, March 18, 2009 5:57 AM

The Kerala state police has made arrangements to check SMS messages in connection with the Lok Sabha (House of the People) election campaign in the state.

The SMS messages from the phones of persons would be traced and action would be taken against them under the Indian Penal code (IPC). Kerala police has also released a number 984610010 to report complaints to the police.

The Election Commission had directed the police authorities to advertise special mobile numbers on which the receiver of such SMS can forward the said SMS along with the number of the sender of the objectionable SMS. The Police authorities should initiate appropriate inquiry and trace back the original sender of such SMS and take appropriate action. X
